playjazzloud 2010 Rewind pt 2

I'm rocking part 2 of the 2010 rewind selection in a slightly more mellow mood. I put this together while in NYC this weekend and so far I've made it through 63 tracks but still have almost 100 tracks on the list to feature. So as you can tell there will be some too close to call tracks that will miss out with only one more session to come. But we shall see.

Part 2 has starts with the bootleg copy of Cee-Lo's "I want you" that is sadly not the version that was released on the album. We have a bunch of African vibes coming from Soundway Records, Akwaaba Music, and beyond. I've slipped in some more indie rock/folk vibes into the selection with stand out music this year from Deerhunter, Junip, Monsters of Folk and others. Again you will hear the orchestral influence as I mentioned last week in this year's top tunes and we have more music from the hard working Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and LA artist Nick Rosen. Oh and there is a lot of jazz as well! Next week's session will be a monster one I think with some much good music to get to. Enjoy. Listen above, download from here or listen via iTunes. For those who like to download and burn to CDs for old school car listening etc here is this week mix split into two mp3s. Get part 1 here and get part 2 here. Hopefully this week we will have less of the technical issues of last week!
