playjazzloud sessions vol. 68 "quiet" music feature

As January wraps up here is my final installment for the month and as it's a pretty chilly and rainy day in LA the feature in this week's mix is an hour of "quiet music," ranging from jazz to modern classical and soundtrack.

I knew it was going to get a little quiet later on in the mix so we start off with a bang from Andre 3000 with "Love Hater" before hitting a left over track that I wanted to play in last week's spiritual jazz feature from Leon Thomas. After that it's off to a few funky tracks including an oldie from the great Young Disciples. Then I'm hitting you with an hour's worth of quality peaceful jams from Matthew Halsall (doing Cinematic Orchestra), Miles Davis, Charlie Haden, Quiet Village, as well as a new project from UK artist d'Wala (you may remember a J Dilla/Miguel Atwood Ferguson edit of his I played a few times last year) called Pinot Dark. Look for this in 2011. Enjoy and see you in Feburary! Listen above or download from here. It'll be on SoundCloud later in the week so check it there if that's your preference. Don't forget you can always subscribe to the iTunes feed.
